Grammar 文法 Man4 faat3̌

Talking about something you do at the same time

Sentence pattern:  Subject + 一邊 “jat1 bin1”+ verb, 一邊“jat1 bin1”+ verb

The above sentence pattern can help you to express two things to be done at the same time. Similar to the use of the word一起 “jat1 hei2”, the word一邊 “jat1 bin1” should be put in front of the verb. The only difference is that one subordinate sentence should be added in this sentence pattern to express two things to be done at the same time.

Example:

我們可以一邊吃東西,一邊抽獎。

ngo5 mun4 ho2 ji5 jat1 bin1 hek3 dung1 sai1, jat1 bin1 cau1 zoeng2。

We can enjoy our food while play lucky draw.
